Graduation Information
The following information outlines dates and events leading up to and including graduation ceremony. Please review and retain these details for planning purposes. The commencement ceremony is scheduled as an indoor event for Friday, May 29, 2026, at 6:00 P.M. in Waterford Union High School Main Gym.
Pre-Graduation Details
● Tuesday, May 19: All financial obligations must be cleared by 3:00 P.M. Per Board Policy #5460, in order to participate in the graduation ceremony, all financial obligations need to be paid in full prior to the first graduation practice, which is May 20, 2026.
● Wednesday, May 20: Mandatory graduation practice at 11:10 A.M. in the main gym. Please inform your employer of this practice so you have the time off. You will be required to make up the practice if you plan to participate in the ceremony because information covered in this practice is different from information in the second practice. Practice is scheduled to end by no later than 11:45 A.M.
● Wednesday, May 20: Senior Scholarship Night at 7:00 P.M. in the high school auditorium. All scholarships will be distributed this evening. If you have received a scholarship from an institution or foundation, please inform Nicole Duldulao at 262-534-3189 ext. 3400. Student services will notify all students receiving an award at this event, yet observers are welcome to attend.
● Wednesday, May 27: Mandatory graduation practice at 2:05 P.M. in the main gym. Please inform your employer of this practice so you have the time off. You MUST participate in this entire practice in order to participate in the ceremony. Practice is scheduled to end by no later than 4:00 P.M.
● Thursday, May 28: All detentions must be cleared by 3:00 P.M. Per Board Policy #5460, in order to participate in the graduation ceremony, all disciplinary obligations need to be settled.
● Diplomas for graduates not participating in commencement will be available in the high school main office beginning Monday, June 1, 2026, at 8:00 A.M.
Graduation Ceremony Details
● Friday, May 29, 2026 Graduation Ceremony. Graduates meet in the Center Street Gym no later than 5:20 P.M. The ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 P.M.
● Each student will receive five (5) tickets. Only people with a valid ticket will be allowed in the gym. Students will receive their tickets at the last practice on May 27.
● Due to the capacity of the gym, 5 tickets will be available to each family, and 100 extra tickets are available (1 per family) on a first come first serve basis by requesting through this link. Since tickets are distributed to students, your child must use their school email to complete the form. Tickets will be distributed to students at the second practice. Additionally, the ceremony may be viewed via live streaming. A link will be posted and shared closer to the graduation ceremony.
● If it is your intention NOT to participate in the diploma issuing ceremony, parents must call Mrs. Sutherland in the main office (534-3189 ext. 3500) and convey those intentions.
● Accessible Seating: If you require accessible seating due to mobility, please contact Mrs. April Sutherland via email at asutherland@wuhs.us
● Since this is a school event, unaltered school-issued caps, gowns, stoles and cords are the required attire for the ceremony.
