Our chapter absolutely crushed it at the State FFA Convention, bringing home some of the highest honors in the state! We are so incredibly proud of our members' hard work, dedication, and leadership.

Here are the massive highlights and most impressive awards from our unforgettable time:

THE BIGGEST WINS & HIGHLIGHTS 

• 🏆 Katelyn Wunder is the STATE STAR in Agricultural Placement! This is a monumental achievement! In addition to earning her State Degree, Katelyn won 1st Place in Veterinary Science and was named the State Star for her incredible work preparing for a career in veterinary medicine. She is now heading to the NATIONAL level!

• 🌾 Nominated as the Section 10 STAR CHAPTER! Our members set up a booth and showcased all of the amazing opportunities our chapter has to offer.

• 🏅 SEVEN State Degree Recipients! A huge congratulations to Hunter Christiansen, Bayley Schaal, Mya Moczynski, Hanna Henningfeld, Bri Chimel, Katelyn Wunder, and Ramona Holden for receiving their State FFA Degrees—the highest honor a member can earn at the state level!

• 🚀 National Bound in Agriscience! Riley Benhart took home 1st Gold in Animal Systems (Division 3) for her innovative project on incubation temperatures and is officially heading to Nationals!

Leadership & Giving Back

• Mya Moczynski was recognized on stage as a Three Star Leader! 

• Taylor Jacobson accepted the Food For America Award on behalf of our chapter for our community agriculture education efforts.

• Taylor and Ramona Holden served as our official delegates (with Ramona serving as committee secretary!).

• 30,000 MEALS! Our members participated in the Day of Service, helping pack thousands of meals for those in need in just one hour.

Waterford Union High School is a 2026 Casey’s Cash for Classrooms grant recipient. The school will receive $30,000 to purchase new soccer team shelters.

“We are grateful to receive a Cash for Classrooms grant from Casey’s and are excited to complete this project that will improve our students’ ability to learn and grow at Waterford Union High School each day,” said Athletics and Activities Administrator Jill Stobber. “Casey’s is a great community partner that gives back to many schools across its footprint, including ours, through this program." 

"Through Casey's Cash for Classrooms program, our grants are providing meaningful impact, helping create better learning environments and improving the lives of children and teachers. Casey’s is grateful to be in a position to provide support for our communities and the schools and families, who are preparing our next generation of leaders,” said Katie Petru, Director of Community and Communications, at Casey’s.

In Wisconsin, spring and fall soccer seasons often bring unpredictable weather, from freezing rain to intense UV exposure. ” These shelters will provide a place for our student-athletes to manage body temperatures and stay dry, and these shelters are a long-term investment in the school’s infrastructure, benefiting soccer programs for decades to come,” said soccer coach Joe Vogt.

Soccer coach Andrew Cresswell noted that the upgrade solves significant logistical issues: “We are extremely grateful for this funding. Our current benches are rusted and prone to leaks; these new shelters will finally give us the capacity to fit a full team comfortably under cover. It’s a fantastic upgrade that helps make our stadium a place we can truly be proud of.”

Waterford Union High School (WUHS) consistently ranks among the top high schools in Wisconsin for military and career readiness. In May 2026, the school recognized 15 graduating seniors entering the United States Armed Forces, spanning every major branch, including the Naval Academy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. This high rate of enlistment and academy placement highlights the school’s commitment to leadership and civic service.

11 of our outstanding Wolverines participated in the Youth Apprenticeship (YA) hiring event at the Milwaukee Electrical Training Institute (METI).
