The WUHS Booster Club had another successful year supporting Waterford athletics, donating a total of $34,050 to WUHS Athletics during the 2025-26 school year.

Highlights from the year include:

• $11,300 donated toward Coach Wish List items, providing equipment, services, and resources requested directly by WUHS head coaches.
• $1,000 awarded in scholarships to graduating WUHS students.
• Concessions generated $26,768 in sales and $17,177 in profit, thanks in large part to parent volunteers and the generous support of Spanky’s Sports Bar & Grill, which donated much of the food sold through the concession stands.
• The Booster Club's first Green & White Night generated $19,210 in sales and $12,238 in profit.
• The Annual Golf Outing generated $11,385 in sales and $5,401 in profit.
• Booster Club memberships generated $2,419 in membership dues.

The Booster Club thanks the parents, volunteers, sponsors, local businesses, members, and community supporters whose contributions of time and money made these accomplishments possible.

Looking ahead, the Second Annual Green & White Night will be held November 14, 2026, and the Annual Golf Outing will return next year. The Booster Club will also introduce a Water Softener Salt Sale this spring, with WUHS athletes delivering salt directly to customers' homes and proceeds benefiting Waterford athletics.

The Booster Club encourages WUHS families and community members to get involved this year by joining the Booster Club, volunteering at concessions, attending events, becoming a sponsor, or supporting upcoming fundraisers.

Every volunteer, member, sponsor, and supporter helps the Booster Club give more back to Waterford student-athletes.

It was another great Waterford CLAW (Community Leaders and Athletes at Waterford) Event. They hosted a freshman mentorship night for our Class of 2030 Student-Athletes. After the event, we held a social for all of our student-athletes to get the 2026-2027 year started right! We cannot thank our sponsors enough! They made sure our social was a HUGE success! I

Waterford Union High School’s DECA "Team 2" student officers recently attended the annual Wisconsin DECA Chapter Opportunity Workshop (COW) in Madison, Wisconsin.

The immersive event brought together emerging student leaders from across the state to focus on strategic chapter planning, high-level business education, and team development for the upcoming academic school year.

Key Highlights from the Workshop

• Leadership & Strategic Planning: Officers participated in specialized workshops hosted by Wisconsin DECA State Officers, drafting Waterford DECA's goals and activity roadmap for the year.

• Team Building Exercises: Student leaders engaged in collaborative challenges across Madison, including a high-energy "Amazing Race" competition and a city-wide scavenger hunt.

• Statewide Networking: Team 2 connected with fellow DECA members and chapter leaders from high schools throughout Wisconsin to share best practices for community outreach and career prep.

Last week, ten members of the Waterford music family had the incredible opportunity to participate in NextDirection, an international choral leadership conference held at the University of Wisconsin–Parkside.

Nine current WUHS students - Brycen Evjen, Bella Fletcher, Aliyah Frahman, Makenna Menken, Kaylee Micheletto, Amiya Reid, Peyton Reinke, Lilli Sossaman, and Grace Starrett - along with recent graduate Ian Homs, spent three days learning what it means to lead with purpose, confidence, empathy, and vision.

Working with Dr. Jeff Douma of Yale University, our students explored the qualities and practices that make great leaders in any profession. They also participated in workshops focused on working effectively with peers, leading and facilitating groups, and developing the skills necessary to help others succeed.

Waterford’s connection to NextDirection extends far beyond our current students.

WUHS alumna Lilly Mehring participated as a college student and is now a rising senior majoring in choral education. And two more Wolverine alumni - Jacob Klingsten and Owen Mehring - have just completed their first year as music educators and are now serving on the staff of NextDirection, helping to shape the next generation of choral leaders. Even our recent student teacher, Emma Clark, was also on the staff!

This is one of the things that makes our music community so special: our students continue to grow, lead, teach, and give back long after they leave our classrooms.

Congratulations to all of our Wolverine leaders! We are incredibly proud of the way you represent Waterford and the ways you are already making a difference in the world through the power of music.

Our chapter absolutely crushed it at the State FFA Convention, bringing home some of the highest honors in the state! We are so incredibly proud of our members' hard work, dedication, and leadership.

THE BIGGEST WINS & HIGHLIGHTS 

• 🏆 Katelyn Wunder is the STATE STAR in Agricultural Placement! This is a monumental achievement! In addition to earning her State Degree, Katelyn won 1st Place in Veterinary Science and was named the State Star for her incredible work preparing for a career in veterinary medicine. She is now heading to the NATIONAL level!

• 🌾 Nominated as the Section 10 STAR CHAPTER! Our members set up a booth and showcased all of the amazing opportunities our chapter has to offer.

• 🏅 SEVEN State Degree Recipients! A huge congratulations to Hunter Christiansen, Bayley Schaal, Mya Moczynski, Hanna Henningfeld, Bri Chimel, Katelyn Wunder, and Ramona Holden for receiving their State FFA Degrees—the highest honor a member can earn at the state level!

• 🚀 National Bound in Agriscience! Riley Benhart took home 1st Gold in Animal Systems (Division 3) for her innovative project on incubation temperatures and is officially heading to Nationals!

Leadership & Giving Back

• Mya Moczynski was recognized on stage as a Three Star Leader! 

• Taylor Jacobson accepted the Food For America Award on behalf of our chapter for our community agriculture education efforts.

• Taylor and Ramona Holden served as our official delegates (with Ramona serving as committee secretary!).

• 30,000 MEALS! Our members participated in the Day of Service, helping pack thousands of meals for those in need in just one hour.
