Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc.

In keeping with the mission of the Horatio Alger Association, the scholarship programs provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Eligibility criteria include: high school graduation in spring/summer, demonstrated critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), and United States citizenship. Fleet Reserve Association Branch 14 is sponsoring its Annual Americanism Contest.

This year the theme and title is “What Patriotism Means to Me” all essays must not exceed 350 words, typed or written on one side of the paper. No names are to appear on the essay. All essays must be submitted to the Branch prior to December 1, 2017 for judging. For rules and cover sheet, please click here for more information.

2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Award

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards were created in 1995 to recognize students in middle level and high school grades who have made meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. Young volunteers in grade 5-12 complete applications online at by November 7, 2017. For more information, please see website.

Junior Achievement Michael E. Batten Memorial Scholarship

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to Racine area students during the 2017-18 school year. The awardees will primarily by selected by reviewing their community service and extra-curricular activity of any nature. Only high school seniors who live in and attend school in Racine County are eligible. Deadline is December 31, 2017. Please click here for application.

2017-18 Educators Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

In order to qualify for an Educators Scholarship, the student must: be the primary owner of an active account at Educators Credit Union at the time of application, be enrolled in a Racine high school, be eligible for graduation at the end of the 2017-18 school year, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the end of first semester senior year. 2017-2018 Scholarships of Engineers Foundation of Wisconsin

These 11 scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors who plan to study engineering at a four-year ABET accredited program leading to a baccalaureate degree in engineering and intend to enter the profession of engineering upon graduation. All applications should be postmarked no later than Monday, December 18, 2017. For more information and application, please click here.


The purpose of these scholarships is to provide financial assistance for education beyond the high school level for a student entering an accredited college/university to pursue a health care related degree. All Saints Foundation have three scholarship applications and must meet all criteria for each scholarship. Click here for criteria and each application. Deadline is Monday, January 8, 2018.
