Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc.

In keeping with the mission of the Horatio Alger Association, the scholarship programs provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Eligibility criteria include: high school graduation in spring/summer, demonstrated critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), and United States citizenship. Fleet Reserve Association Milwaukee Branch 14 Americanism Essay Contest

This year's theme and title is "What my vote will mean to me?" in 350 words - on one side of paper. Eligibility grades 7 thru 12. Entries must be returned by December 1, 2019.  Please use this LINK for rules and application.  

AES Engineering Scholarship

AES Engineering is offering a scholarship to a student that will be based on character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.  Please visit LINK for criteria and how to apply.  DEADLINE is October 6, 2019.  

Kohl’s Excellence Scholarship

 Applicants must be graduating high school students who intend to enroll in a postsecondary institution, which may be a public or nonpublic university, college, or vocational/technical college.  Students, who are residents of the State of Wisconsin, are in good standing, and who demonstrate probable success in postsecondary education are eligible to apply.  Deadline is November 5, 2019.  Please visit this LINK for criteria and application. 

2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Award

The Prudential Spirit of Community Award can help recognize outstanding young people from a school or organization.  Qualifying students must: be in grades 5-12 as of November 5, 2019, and a legal resident of one of the 50 states, have participated in a volunteer activity at least in part after September 1, 2018, and complete and submit an online application by November 5, 2019, to a school principal or the head of one of the program’s designated organizations.  Please visit LINK to fill out application and details.
